Bring on the Rain

Another day has almost come and gone.
Can't imagine what else could go wrong.
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door,
A single battle lost, but not the war.

'Cause tomorrow's another day
and I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain.

*****************

This sums up my day.

Today was a field trip day.

We arrived at the art museum and learned that the wrong tour was scheduled.

We went on the sculpture tour.  It was outside in a WIDE open area.

The kids ran.  They hopped.  They talked A LOT . . .

The tour did not hold their interests.

We had extra time.

We walked on a narrow path with drop down on either side.  A river to the left and woods to the right.

I learned about a student's fear of butterflies.  The student took off running in the other direction as the butterfly crossed our path.  Thankfully no one was knocked down or hurt.

There was confusion regarding where to meet the buses.

My plans are not done for next week.  My materials are not in order.

I had to leave earlier than usual.  G had an eye doctor's appointment.

**************************

I rushed to pick up Baby M.

She had a blow out!

I bolted  to pick up G.

I got to the eye doctor on time.

Brent called during the appointment.  He forgot snack for after B's baseball game at home.  There was an accident and he wasn't able to make it to the game on time and get snack.

G's vision has stayed the same since February.  We need to increase the eye drop days from 2 days to 3 days.

G did a great job at the eye doctor's office.  We went to Starbucks for a treat.

********************************

I hurried home to get snack for B's team.

I got stuck in traffic.  I turned around.  I went the long way (40 minutes rather than 10).

I saw the last 5 minutes of the game.

B got a hit.

He also got to run home!

I passed out snack.

**********************

I headed for home.

My gas light dinged.

***********************

No, I'm not gonna let it get me down.
I'm not gonna cry
and I'm not gonna loose any sleep tonight.

'Cause tomorrow's another day
and I am not afraid
so bring on the rain.

  1. Yikes! That is quite a day. Wine, perhaps? I'm having a glass and going to bed early. And, my day doesn't hold a candle to yours!!

    1. Good idea! I did get a Frappuccino from Starbucks. I think wine would have made me fall asleep instantly!

    1. In a way I guess that's kind of good. At least I can get all of the yucky stuff over with at once.

    1. Well I'm not sure how well I was able to 'deal' yesterday, but I survived! If anything it made good topic to post about.
Thank you. Hope you have a great weekend.

  5. Thanks for the comment on our site! I was working all day and night on the book and looking forward to it! I hope that the book will help other women like ourself get the push they need to rule the world. It just drives me nuts that in the US, only 17% of senior executives are women, according to a 2012 study and Facts is facts, female leaders work differently from male leaders, and bring alternate viewpoints to the table, and we need those different ways of seeing and doing. And if we want women leaders, we have to cultivate and advance women employees. This doesn’t mean just “promoting more women.” It means celebrating and leveraging the differences for competitive advantage. So there you have it a little more details of what my book will entail :) I am a new follower, your site is refreshing .. thank you

    1. How interesting and scary and sad all at the same time :( I'm so intrigued. Thanks for following. I'm glad you are enjoying my blog. It's a new adventure to me. When I was completing my Master's I had to create a blog for one of my classes, but we simply used it to submit assignments. We didn't use it to its true potential.

  6. Ahh... the day that Murphy's Law struck. I feel like such a rookie. I had the same kind of a day this week but I only have 1 kid. Hope your next was less adventurous. Happy Saturday Sharefest on SITS!

  7. I agree with Lisa .... it is nice to know that we all have those type of days! (I also only have one kid ... although there are times when I think she is 5 going on 25.) I am really glad that I found your blog through SITS! Hope you have a great week this week!

    1. I'm glad you found me too! Sometimes 1 kid can feel like 25, I totally understand that. I have also been told that little girls have a lot more than attitude little boys. My little girl is only 5 months old. My boys are 6 and 4. Some days I think my 4 year old was supposed to be a girl. He has enough attitude for 5 kids. Next week has GOT to be better than this!

    1. Yes, it has! I think it helped that a new pair of shoes made their way into my cart at Target yesterday. My hubby didn't even give me a hard time about them (as usual). I think he knew better!
